Overview
The Bisserier Laboratory at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY is currently seeking a Full-time Laboratory Assistant. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an interest in cellular and molecular biology. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will various laboratory techniques, including cell culture using human pulmonary vascular cells. pharmacological treatments, proliferation/apoptosis assays, immunoblotting. qRT-PCR, staining. in-vivo models of the disease, and various bioinformatic tools to analyze new data. The ideal candidate should excel in a collaborative team environment while also demonstrating strong self-motivation and determination.
Responsibilities
+ Assist the principal investigator with experimental design, execution, data collection, and interpretation
+ Assist with laboratory staff training and oversee students performing procedures and experiments
+ Maintain laboratory records and inventory for long-term sample storage
+ Responsible for ordering supplies and day-to-day lab budgeting
+ Ensure compliance with laboratory safety guidelines
Qualifications
Education requirement:Master’s degree in the field of Life Sciences or related field Other skills/requirements:
+ Highly motivated, skilled, and dynamic individual.
+ Good organization skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
+ Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Aptitude for quick learning and multi-tasking is critical.
+ Previous experience with mammalian cell culture, aseptic techniques, and other laboratory techniques will be appreciated, but not required.
+ Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
+ Knowledge of standard concepts, good laboratory practices, and procedures.
Physical demands:Ability to life and carry up to 10 lbs unassisted. Stationary position (setting or standing) up to 75% of the time.

USD $29,848.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary
USD $37,310.00/Yr.
