Senior OT Rehab Specialist- Crescent Occupational Therapy-Full Time-Evening-Mount Sinai Queens
The primary purpose of your job position is to establish and monitor therapeutic plans of care utilizing available support staff to maximize the delivery of therapeutic services with significant outcome in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications
+ **Education:** Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelors degree in PT/OT or a Masters Degree in SLP from an accredit college or university. Clinical knowledge obtained from an accredited PT, OT or SLP program
+ **Experience:** Working knowledge of PPS and Medicare guidelines, OBRA, OSHA and state regulatory agency requirements. Must be knowledgeable of PT, OT or SLP practice acts and procedures.
+ **License:** Must have a current State license in specific discipline.

Responsibilities
+ Evaluate, establish, implement, and monitor therapeutic plans of care.
+ Monitor and effectively document resident care and progress.
+ Design functional maintenance programs.
+ Complete all paperwork accurately and timely (weekly notes, billing grids, time sheets, etc.)
+ Supervise therapy assistants and rehab aides' performance and provide instructive input.
+ Determine staffing needs of the therapy department when necessary to meet the needs of the residents.
+ Provide educational inservices to residents, families, and facility personnel as appropriate.
+ Communicate effectively and regularly to interdisciplinary team regarding resident's status and discharge plans.
+ Meet with administration, medical and health services staff, and other facility departments regarding planning therapy services.
+ Assist in interpreting policies and procedures to staff, residents, and family members as necessary.
+ Maintain treatment records, resident files and progress notes as required.
+ Provide guidance and training for new and less experienced staff.
+ Assist in the recruitment and selection of competent OT, PT and SLP staff.
+ Demonstrate flexibility with treatment techniques and scheduling.
+ Participate in developing work schedules and assignments as required.
+ Interview resident to determine type of treatment needed and schedule therapy as ordered.
+ Brief resident of procedures involved in therapy and prepare necessary equipment.
+ Assist in transporting resident to and from therapy room/area.
+ Ensure all therapy notes are informative and descriptive of care provided and the resident's response to treatment.
+ Develop and implement procedures such that therapy supplies are used and distributed in an efficient manner to avoid waste.
+ Deliver therapeutic procedures in a resident's room, or on an outpatient basis. Reassure resident before and during therapy treatment.
+ Recommend modifications or changes in the resident's therapy program based on own evaluation of progress.
+ Involve the resident/family in planning objectives and goals for the resident.
+ Ensure that therapy area is maintained in a clean, tidy and safe manner.
+ Provide supervision of therapy assistants as required in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
+ Performs other related assignments as assigned.

Compensation Statement
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72473 - $108709 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
