Metrology Asset Coordinator and Service Planner

Job Description:
This role supports the day-to-day flow of measurement and test equipment through the Metrology and Calibration Laboratory. You’ll coordinate equipment intake and shipment, support service scheduling and customer communication, and help ensure calibration and repair work moves smoothly and on schedule. The role also includes entering service and production orders in SAP and supporting laboratory operations to meet customer and business needs.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Managing Measurement & Test Equipment
• Coordinate with internal teams and lab technicians to schedule calibrations.
• Receive, tr
ack, stage, and ship measurement and test equipment.
• Enter and maintain service and production orders in SAP and MET/TEAM.
• Prepare shipping documentation and delivery notifications.
• Ensure equipment is properly packaged and protected during handling and transport.
• Coordinate internal pickup and delivery of equipment when needed.
• Safely operate material handling equipment in accordance with company safety guidelines.
• Supporting Production & Service Flow
• Monitor open work, late parts, and material issues, and help expedite when needed.
• Support calibration production volume and factory repair service volume.
• Process service orders and provide status updates to customers and internal teams.
• Work closely with planners, technicians, service managers, and order entry teams to keep work moving efficiently.
Asset Tracking & Inventory Support
• Help manage asset recalls and calibration intervals using MET/TEAM.
• Share asset status reports with internal equipment users.
• Support inventory replenishment through Kanban processes and SAP transactions.
• Organize, restock, and assist with counting production materials.
• Manage non-conforming and dated materials.
Laboratory & Operations Support
• Assist with purchasing parts, tools, materials, and consumables.
• Process calibration standards sent to external calibration providers.
• Perform crane inspections and maintain required inspection records.
• Act as a primary point of contact between the laboratory and Field Service Engineers.
• Follow laboratory quality procedures and support quality system updates as needed.
• Pitch in where needed to support workload spikes and continuous improvement efforts.
Other Responsibilities
• Support special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 2 years' experience
• Clear, professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Comfort working with computer systems and production software.
• Experience with ERP systems, SAP and Salesforce is helpful.
• Experience with asset management systems, especially Fluke MET/TEAM, is helpful.
• A customer-focused, team-oriented approach with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work across functions and support a fast-moving lab environment.

Compensation Information:
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.25-$35.40 depending on relevant education and experience.
