    Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Command Operations Group of Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC). Responsibilities You will support security related efforts which currently requires administration of all security aspects of operations. You will evaluate security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in meeting the terms within the security program requirements. You will administer local policies and procedures to ensure compliance of security policies. You will manage, upgrade, and change security systems/ equipment (i.e. alarms, cameras, badge readers, fencing, safe combinations) as required You will apply and provide guidance on the established policies and procedures for handling and safeguarding classified material Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS 12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1.Providing guidance and interpretation of Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection, Physical Security, Emergency Management, and Continuity of Operations (COOP) matters. 2. Utilizing knowledge of physical antiterrorism, continuity of operations (COOP), and security program interrelationships to support the commands strategic plan. 3. Recommending improvements or updates on physical, COOP, Emergency Management, and Anti-Terrorism processes, policies and strategies to counter threats. 4. Making recommendations concerning alternative approaches and improvements to the organizational security processes. 5. Preparing, reviewing and evaluating security documentation. GS 13 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1.Providing guidance and interpretation and recommending improvements of Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection, Physical Security, Emergency Management, and Continuity of Operations (COOP) related matters. 2. Preparing, reviewing, and evaluating security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in meeting the terms within the security program requirements. 3. Administering local policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational security policies, instructions, and SOPs. 4. Monitoring security programs and conduct periodic security inspections. 5. Ensuring that all proposed security system changes are reviewed, and that implemented system modifications do not adversely impact the security of the system. Additional Information: This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) certification program. The selectee is required to obtain SFPC certification within two years of placement in the position and maintain the certification as long as they remain in the position.
