    **Northrop Grumman Mission Systems** is looking for you to join our team as a **Fabrication Shop Manager** based in **Salt Lake City, UT** .

     

    The Fabrication Shop Manager is responsible for leading a team within a supervisory organization, managing resources, and ensuring program or project objectives are met.

    What you will get to do:

    + Lead and manage the machine shop & fast reaction shop, ensuring adequate staffing and compliance with company policies.

    + Oversee the creation of job requisitions and positions in Workday, including selecting job profiles, job titles, and job descriptions. The job description should include the role summary, basic qualifications, and preferred qualifications, tailored to the specific position being filled.

    + Manage hiring processes, including internal transfers and external recruitment, in partnership with HR Business Partners.

    + Ensure compliance with security, documentation, and operational requirements, especially when working with consultants or contingent workers.

    + Approve timecards, leave requests, and monitor compliance with company policies (e.g., jury duty, alcohol at company events).

    + Maintain accountability for team performance, supplier management, and program deliverables.

    + Support business continuity, crisis management, and resource prioritization during disruptions.

    + Collaborate with other managers and departments to achieve organizational goals and support employee development.

     

    The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills.

    Basic Requirements for the Fabrication Shop Manager:

    + Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment; OR a master’s degree and 6 or more years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment. (An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.)

    + Experience in team leadership, resource management, and compliance.

    + Experience with company policies, security requirements, and operational procedures.

    + Experience evaluating drawings for machining processes

    + Experience evaluating drawings for bill of material creation and quoting

    Preferred Qualifications for the Fabrication Shop Manager:

    + Basic test station experience

    + Experience managing a storeroom

    + Experience creating and managing job requisitions, positions, and hiring processes.

    + Experience overseeing the operations of the machine shop and small electronics fab shop

    + Experience evaluating potential work going into the machine shop and small electronics fab shop and provide quote estimates as needed

    Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,400.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
