    We are seeking a Buyer team member within our supply chain group to provide support to the purchasing group. This person must be able to maintain strict confidentiality, possess strong attention to detail skills and have the desire to do non routine tasks.

     

    Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

    Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

    • Organize the procurement and shipment of tools to jobsites throughout the country.

    • Develop and manage RFP’s (Request For Pricing) for tool vendors as a management tool to ensure competitive pricing.

    • Develop a supply chain for tool vendors in proximity to construction sites throughout the U.S.

    • Purchase and manage tool inventory for tools relating to the mechanical trades including hand tools, welding tools, gang boxes, specialty welding items, carts, ladders, PPE, and safety devices.

    • Issue purchase orders and perform follow-up to ensure timely delivery of tools, consumables, supplies, materials, etc.

    • Work with internal stakeholders to develop processes that improve tool utilization, the small tools program, and tool productivity/efficiency.

    • Collect and analyze data to draw conclusions about tool performance, trends, and opportunities.

    • Ensure positive employee relations and build the B&K culture based on our values.

    • Communicate with vendors including managing meetings with vendors when necessary.

    Supervisory / Budgetary /External Communication Responsibility:

    • This is an individual contributor role. It will be responsible for communicating with internal and external customers.

    Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements (minimum competencies required for job performance):

    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

    • Advanced Excel skills

    • MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) basic knowledge required.

    • User experience in Vista by Viewpoint, SAP or other prominent business systems preferred.

    • Outstanding communication skills (phone, e-mail, video conference, and in person) required.

    • Excellent organizational skills.

    • Requires ability to perform numerical, statistical, and/or financial analysis.

    • Must use initiative and judgment to balance workload and meet objectives of the departments supported.

    Prior work experience and educational requirements:

    • Requires a HS diploma with bachelor’s degree preferred.

    • One (1) year of procurement experience.

     

    Physical Demands

     

    The physical demands are those associated with working in a typical office environment and miscellaneous field travel.
