Description
The GSS Officer/Safety Trainer is a critical part of the safety and security of Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. This position requires competence in the review, edit and retention of digital video, as well as the ability to effectively document incidents and accidents. The position will also conduct Safety, Forklift, and Power Truck training to employees throughout the Goodwill organization.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
+ Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.
+ Greet public in a polite and courteous manner.
+ Ensures safety of both customers and employee.
+ Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
+ Provide security services at Goodwill buildings as assigned.
+ Forklift and Power Truck Training: • Conduct training, certification, and re-certification for forklift and power truck operators at all locations. • Maintain accurate records of certification status and ensure compliance with safety standards.
+ Possess excellent verbal and writing skills.
+ Provide written incident reports as necessary.
+ Monitors Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), captures and edits video as necessary.
+ Conducts video surveillance and investigations.
+ Responsible to document incidents or suspicious activity.
+ Must work with Supervisors and Managers as necessary to further investigations.
+ Reports malfunctioning CCTV equipment.
+ Act as a positive role model for employees, trainees, and customers in all aspects of professional performance.
+ Regular attendance is required.
+ All other duties as assigned.

+ Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), video security, and loss prevention management programs.
+ Self-starter with excellent anticipation skills, follow up, dependability, and sense of urgency about getting results.
+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple investigations/audits.
+ Ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations.
+ Must possess professional telephone skills and manners.
+ Ability to interact effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
+ Ability to maintain accurate information and efficient record keeping systems.
+ Ability to exercise discretion while handling confidential information.
+ Ability to develop and deliver safety training materials.
+ Ability to de-escalate situations and manage conflicts.
+ Must possess valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
+ Available to work flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and occasional long hours.
+ Must establish and maintain an effective working relationships with, and among, store and warehouse employees.
+ Ability to observe merchandise presentation, floor layout, safety and security concerns.
+ Ability to engage in prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking.
+ Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs. frequently with occasional periods of lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School or GED equivalent preferred but not required. SORA certification preferred. One year of security experience required.
