    Job Description

    The AECOM Indiana Transportation team is seeking a **Bridge Project Design Engineer III** to join our growing structural and transportation group located in Indianapolis, IN. This role will support the planning, analysis, design, and rehabilitation of bridges and related transportation structures across a variety of public-sector projects.

    Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Perform structural analysis and design of bridges and transportation structures in accordance with AASHTO and state DOT standards

    + Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports

    + Assist in the development of rehabilitation and maintenance recommendations for existing structures

    + Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway, geotechnical, and construction engineering staff

    + Review contractor submittals and provide construction support services as needed

    + Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and agency guidelines

    + Develop and implement innovative bridge design solutions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness

    + Participate in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential projects

    + Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on bridge engineering projects

    + Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in bridge engineering and design

    + Collaborate with environmental specialists to ensure bridge designs meet sustainability and ecological requirements

    + Perform load rating analyses for new and existing bridges to determine their structural capacity

    + Assist in the development of bridge management systems and maintenance strategies.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    + BA/BS plus a minimum of 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    + PE license in Indiana or ability to obtain a PE within 1 year.

    + Ability to pass MVR background check

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master of Science or Master of Engineering)

    + Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS, Leap Bridge Concrete, or similar)

    + Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools such as OpenRoads/OpenBridge Designer or MicroStation

    + Strong understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Familiarity with DOT design procedures and standards

    Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $100000 to $130000.
