Description
Work in tandem with Executive Director and Senior Vice President on the innovation and development of quality products that meet brand strategy and are launched within Marketing Calendar timeframes in an autonomous manner. Specifically, the Collections and Collaborations category, candidates must be experienced, independent, professional and flexible, have exceptional communication skills, have proficiency in Calendar, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and possess the ability to independently manage multiple tasks efficiently.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
+ Work closely with Executive Director and Senior Vice President to present new launch options for 3⁃year innovation calendar by analyzing competitive offerings and meeting with vendors to evaluate innovation.
+ Autonomously manage PD life cycle from concept to all executional elements. Work closely with Consumer Marketing to ensure enticing communication that clearly communicates the concept.
+ Manage formula approval process between outside vendor and R&D. Ensure that specific formula/shade issues are respected and understood.
+ Analyze past performance and market trend to create and present shade lineups for consideration by Executive Director.
+ Issue lineups once approved by SVP of PD and Marketing.
+ Present concepts/innovation in small meeting settings.
+ Independently review and re⁃direct submissions until desired attributes and performance are achieved from lab level through first production.
+ Working directly with Executive Director, to develop targeted Collection and Collaboration launches that address colour and pop trends while tying in key talent objectives and insights. Work closely with Colour/Trend house to identify key colour moments.
+ Propose white space & anniversary opportunities to Executive Director.
+ Manage complete claims process from origination of Product Profile, kicking off claims to cross functional teams for alignment & approving profiles through legal. Working creatively with legal on approved language.
+ Work with Marketing, Research and Development, Global Brand Supply Chain, Packaging, and Creative to ensure smooth product introduction and execution to market.
+ Ensure all key timetable dates are met in coordination with Global Brand Supply Chain.
+ Responsible for US and foreign on⁃site shade and formula development and production approvals.
+ Approve copy on all artist & consumer touchpoints ensuring consistency and clear benefit communication hierarchy.
+ Manage distribution of lab standards to marketing and other counterparts once lab standards are established.
+ Manage day⁃to⁃day responsibilities of seasonal intern, temp, or PA.
+ Purchase, evaluate, and track all new competitive Eye products.
+ Track key trends, the competitive environment and participate in brainstorming meetings for new product concepts.
+ Attend industry conferences and lectures to keep informed of new product and packaging directions and trends.
Qualifications
+ Undergraduate College Degree preferred.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
+ Strong skills in tactile/aesthetic evaluation of cosmetic products as well as the ability to communicate product understanding.
+ Ability to think creatively and brainstorm new ideas to stay ahead of the market curve.
+ Excellent organization, communication and follow⁃through skills with a keen eye for detail.
+ Multi⁃functional, flexible, to handle ever changing priorities.
+ Strong written, oral, and presentation⁃based communication skills.
+ Flexibility in travel.
+ Job requires both domestic and foreign travel.
+ Well versed in social media and social network activities and trends.
+ Position requires 6+ years of product development experience in a fast paced, high pressure corporate environment requiring little supervision.
+ College or University degree preferred.
+ Mature professional demeanor, particularly for interacting with senior management. Highly confidential.
+ Strong interpersonal skills required and ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment.
+ Able to handle a fast⁃paced global business environment, work well under pressure and able to prioritize.
+ Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and attention to detail.
+ Excellent organizational, communication and computer skills required.
+ Excellent time management and follow⁃through skills with respect to detail.
