Job Description Summary
The Business Team Leader (BTL) is a senior leadership role within the State College Operations Team, responsible for driving operational excellence and resource optimization to meet production schedules and organizational objectives. The BTL leads daily manufacturing operations, fosters a high-performance culture, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong Lean experience to enhance problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards.
Define, prioritize, track and improve key metrics in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Develop operational plans and manage budgets in collaboration with Plant Manager.
Conduct employee performance reviews, set goals, and provide coaching for development and engagement.
Establish team goals aligned with quality standards and develop training plans to maximise workforce capability.
Support continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Lean experience when appropriate.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education** **:
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in manufacturing, supply chain, or leadership OR High School diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Lean Experience** **:
Demonstrated application of Lean principles and tools in a manufacturing environment.
Comfort with rapid problem-solving and escalation management.
Technical & Analytical Skills** **:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills for data-driven decision-making.
Familiarity with automation, data analytics, and digital tools for operational decision-making.
Leadership Skills** **:
Proven ability to lead and develop teams, motivate employees, and maintain high morale.
Strong change-management and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
Skilled in cross-functional collaboration (Engineering, Quality, Logistics).
Resilience and adaptability to frequent priority shifts and aggressive timelines.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, high-complexity environment with tight SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) targets.
