Required Education/Experience

+ Bachelor's Degree and 8 years related experience or

+ Master's Degree and 6 years related experience

Preferred Education/Experience

+ Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field and experience related to EH&S, Electric Transmission/Distribution, Power Generation, Construction or Substation Operations

+ Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field and experience related to EH&S, Electric Transmission/Distribution, Power Generation, Construction or Substation Operations

Relevant Work Experience

+ Must successfully complete training in the Corporate EH&S Procedures within two years of assignment, required.

+ Must be highly motivated individual, demonstrate a strong Commitment to Excellence, and understand the vital importance of personal accountability, required.

+ Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to successfully complete multiple tasks without compromising quality or timelines, required.

+ Must be able to develop concepts into successful safety and environmental programs, required.

+ Must be able to deliver exemplary customer service and develop a team spirited work environment in support of Con Edison's Corporate Values, required.

+ Must demonstrate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and/or an ability to quickly become proficient with database packages including Microsoft Office and MAXIMO, required.

Physical Demands

+ Ability to respond to system emergencies

+ Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold

+ Ability to climb ladders and stairs

+ Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)

+ Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator, without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations

+ Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses

Additional Physical Demands

+ The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

+ Must be able and willing to travel within O&R and CECONY service territory, as needed.
