    Job Summary

    The Cafeteria Lead Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily cafeteria operations at our middle school (Grades 5-8) to ensure efficient service, high food quality, and a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role provides hands-on leadership to cafeteria staff, coordinates food preparation and service, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, and supports a positive dining experience for all customers.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Supervise and lead cafeteria staff during daily food preparation and service

    + Assign duties, monitor performance, and provide guidance and support to team members

    + Ensure compliance with local health codes, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations

    + Oversee meal preparation, portion control, and presentation to meet quality standards

    + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe cafeteria environment at all times

    + Assist with staff scheduling, timekeeping, and coverage as needed

    + Train new employees and support ongoing staff development

    + Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management

    + Address customer concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly

    + Enforce workplace policies and promote teamwork and accountability

    + Support special events, meal programs, or dietary accommodations as required

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent required

    + Previous experience in food service, cafeteria, or hospitality required

    + Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred

    + Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    + Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment

    + Excellent organizational and time management skills

    + Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10 pounds
