Job Description: NPD Product Technical Lead– Ordnance
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated NPD Product Technical professional to lead the development of new ordnance products from proposal concepts through qualification and integration into production. This critical position will be responsible for mentoring and managing a team of engineers, overseeing all technical aspects of product development, ensuring timely delivery of engineering deliverables, and driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve program goals. As a key member of the team, you will interact directly with customers, government/military representatives, and internal stakeholders to ensure product success within the aerospace and defense industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Leadership & Team Development:**
2. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers to deliver high-quality technical solutions, meet project milestones, and achieve program objectives.
3. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance team culture.
4. **Program Management:**
5. Oversee and manage all engineering tasks required to design, develop, validate, qualify, and transition ordnance products into production.
6. Develop and maintain engineering budgets, schedules, and resource plans for assigned projects.
7. Ensure program engineering deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
8. **Technical Data Package Development:**
9. Oversee the creation, review, and release of comprehensive technical data packages, including drawings, test plans, test reports, compliance matrices, and other required documentation.
10. Ensure all technical deliverables meet customer, internal, and regulatory standards.
11. **Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:**
12. Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, government/military representatives, and internal stakeholders.
13. Prepare and present materials for internal and external design reviews, including Internal Design Reviews (IDRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).
14. **Cross-Functional Collaboration:**
15. Work closely with cross-functional development teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program management, to ensure seamless integration of new products into production.
16. Drive collaboration between engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, systems) to ensure cohesive product development.
17. **Compliance & Quality Assurance:**
18. Ensure products comply with applicable customer, industry, and government standards and regulations.
19. Support efforts to validate and qualify designs through rigorous testing, analysis, and reviews.
20. **Continuous Improvement:**
21. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance product development efficiency, quality, and reliability.
22. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the aerospace and defense industry.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, or a related field); advanced degree preferred.
+ 8+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or a related industry, with significant experience in ordnance product development or similar technical programs.
+ Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
+ Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle, including concept development, design, validation, qualification, and production integration.
+ Expertise in preparing and delivering technical presentations for internal and external audiences, including customers and government representatives.
+ Proficiency in creating and managing technical data packages, including CAD drawings, test plans, and reports.
+ Familiarity with design review processes (IDRs, PDRs, CDRs) and compliance standards in the aerospace and defense industry.
+ Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Skills:
+ Advanced degree preferred
+ Experience working with military and government representatives on technical programs
+ Active or eligible for security clearance (preferred but not required).

Bonus or Equity
This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.
Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 101,500.00 - 188,500.00
Is this role subject to ITAR?
The essential duties of this position require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations.
