• Trade Finance Specialist

    Job Description

    An international banking client are seeking a consultant to support our Trade Finance Operations team. This role focuses on handling incoming trade documents, processing collections, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial letters of credit (LC), collections, and standby instruments, as well as familiarity with industry standards and systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Document Handling

     

    - Receive and process incoming commercial LC documents and collection documents from the previous day.

     

    - Scan, rename, and organize documents into designated folders.

     

    - Notify relevant teams of received documents and provide a summary list.

     

    Collections

     

    - Review collection documents and prepare cover letters for clients.

     

    - Communicate with clients to confirm acceptance or provide instructions.

     

    - Process documents against payment (credit accounts same day) and documents against acceptance (draft acceptance and return).

     

    Letters of Credit

     

    - Review export LC and export documents (excluding issuance or amendments).

     

    - Perform initial checks on LC documents; coordinate second-level review.

     

    Compliance

     

    - Conduct OFAC screening on documents, including names, vessels, and related details.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 5+ years of experience within Trade Finance

     

    - Familiarity with trade finance rules and practices: ISP 98, UCP 600, URC 522

     

    - Systems experience with Swift - Cibar system experience
