Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Applications Controls Engineer in the Plymouth, Michigan area. The engineer will be responsible for calibration and validation of vehicle performance while being the primary interface to the customer and ensuring that customer requirements for the vehicle dynamic brake performance are being met.

Other Responsibilities Include:

• Lead software development and algorithm calibration to optimize vehicle performance and meet program timelines.

• Provide technical expertise and communicate performance issues to customers and internal teams.

• Participate in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

• Oversee validation efforts, including data analysis and execution of DVP&R plans to ensure compliance.

• Support Sales and Project Management with technical input for new and existing business opportunities.

• Collaborate with global teams to resolve project issues and drive design and quality improvements.

• Verify software-to-vehicle interface and ensure compliance with customer specifications for dynamic products.

• Provide technical support to Sales and Account Managers for current programs and future opportunities, including design change cost negotiations.

• Assist with program timing plans and maintain technical documents such as DFMEA, DRBFM, DWO, and drawings.

• Perform special projects or tasks as assigned by management.

Skills and Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Automotive Engineering

- 3-5 years of experience in Vehicle Dynamics application or software experience

- 3-5 years of experience with In-Vehicle testing experience and/or mid-level driving cert

- Valid Drivers License

- Programming language experience – preferably embedded C and Matlab

- Hardware and Software debugging experience

- MS Office proficient

- Travel: 50% travel to other facilities – anywhere from 1 day to 6-8 weeks to Fowlerville, MI – 1x a year to Raco, MI for 4-6 weeks – expenses incurred reimbursed
