Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to work fully on-site in support of one of our large federal clients on a growing DoD contract. The ideal person would alleviate the discrepancies between sub-contractor and prime contractor deliverables as well as the perception of missing quality control functions being performed on deliverables before reaching the government. Job responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
• Substantive/developmental editing: Evaluating the overall structure, flow, and completeness of documents to ensure it achieves its purpose for the target audience.
• Copy editing: Refining language for clarity, correcting specialized terminology, and ensuring strict adherence to style guides (i.e. IEEE, AP, or Army/DoW standards).
• Proofreading: A final quality check to catch minor errors in spelling, punctuation, and layout before publication.
• Technical verification: Cross-checking data, formulas, and diagrams against SME source material to prevent performance risks caused by incorrect or incomplete instructions.
• Software QA documentation: Editing of Test Plans, test cases, and Traceability Matrices to ensure requirements are testable and unambiguous (i.e. SMART).
• Developer documentation: Review of API documentation, SDK guides, and system architecture diagrams to ensure technical accuracy for the engineering or operator audience.
Compensation while on contract: $40/hr - $75/hr

Skills and Requirements
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Excellent writing, proof reading, and editing skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet often tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of DoD or IC systems and processes. • Active TS security clearance and above.
• Understanding of modeling and simulation principles and methodologies.
• Experience with simulation tools and software.
• Experience supporting senior leaders.
