    Job Overview

    The Supplier Quality Engineer manages the quality performance of assigned suppliers across the North Americas region. This role ensures product and part qualification, drives quality improvements, leads audits, supports inspections, and resolves quality escapes through robust root cause analysis. The Supplier Quality Engineer is the technical focal point between suppliers and internal engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing functions, ensuring consistent adherence to specifications and compliance requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and qualify suppliers to ensure capability to meet engineering and specification requirements

    • Lead product and manufacturing process qualification with timely closure

    • Execute new supplier evaluations, audits, and readiness assessments

    • Conduct surveillance audits ensuring strong process control and robust quality systems

    • Organize and perform inspections; ensure serial production readiness and product release

    • Support customer witness inspections (FAT, COP)

    • Witness independent third party laboratory testing

    • Own SRG metrics and conduct audits per the regional audit plan

    • Collect process data for CTQs, conduct capability analysis, and drive supplier process improvements

    • Manage NCRs, SNs, warranty claims, and SDRs; act as first technical interface to suppliers

    • Perform structured RCA to prevent recurrence of issues

    • Serve as technical focal point between sourcing, engineering, M&P, and suppliers

    • Provide technical guidance to suppliers to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications

    • Collaborate cross functionally to maintain quality and delivery performance

    • Provide quality input during engineering design reviews

    • Support supplier base development and onboarding of new suppliers

    Skills and Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering

    • 8–12 years industry experience in electrical/electronics engineering, design, quality, or manufacturing

    • Hands on experience with PCBAs, wire harnesses, cables, control cabinets, sensors, transducers, switches, and control transformers

    • Minimum 3 years experience in supply chain or supplier quality

    • Strong interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, and international standards

    • Ability to lead reviews with suppliers

    • Strong background in PCBA quality

    • Ability to interpret wiring schematics and logic circuits

    • Willingness to travel >50% (domestic & international) Plusses

    • Advanced degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering

    • Instrumentation field experience

    • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt or equivalent

    • Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, ISO, ANSI, NEMA standards

    • Knowledge of nuclear standards: N299.2, N299.3

    • ISO Lead Auditor certification

    • RCA Leader or equivalent problem solving certification (KT, 8D, Apollo, etc.)

    • Experience with power generation or heavy industrial manufacturing environments

    • Field experience in quality or maintenance of electrical equipment

    • Proactive, process oriented, and highly self motivated

    • Strong influencing skills
