Job Summary
The NYPL Human Resources Department is seeking a Library Page Fellowship Assistant.
The Library Page Fellowship Associate provides administrative, programmatic, and coordination support for NYPL’s Library Page Fellowship Programs, including the Library Page Fellowship Program and the LEAD (Leadership, Exploration, and Development) Program. This role is critical to the smooth operation, growth, and continuous improvement of early career and workforce development initiatives that support high school and college entry-level employees at NYPL.
The Program Assistant works closely with the Sr. Manager of the Library Page Fellowship Program & Internal Mobility to ensure the smooth operation of cohort-based programs and recruitment for the Library Page Program.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting career pathways and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assist with day-to-day administrative and program coordination support for the Library Page Fellowship Program, LEAD Program, and related initiatives.
+ Coordinate schedules for cohorts, workshops, meetings, and special events (virtual and in-person).
+ Supports recruitment, including application tracking, interview scheduling, candidate communications, and other supporting materials.
+ Track program participation, attendance, and outcomes using spreadsheets, databases, or HR systems.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Education and Certifications
+ High School Diploma
+ Preference for candidates who are currently enrolled in a degree program or have been in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
+ Some experience in the following areas: career development, programming, project management, and data analysis.
Required Skills
+ Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
+ Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills in one-on-one interactions, group situations, and through presentations and events.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Attention to detail and accuracy in data tracking and documentation.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across departments.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (Word, Excel, Forms, Calendar, etc.).
+ Ability to handle complex issues with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
