Bloomberg News is looking for an versatile, ambitious journalist to lead and expand the reach of our Equality team based in New York. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves to generate ideas, break stories, partner across coverage areas and regions, and help reporters turn out compelling work.
Our Equality coverage has never been more necessary – or newsy. At a moment when companies have backed away from diversity, inclusion and other workplace-equity practices, when lawmakers globally are pushing for (and against) measures to eliminate bias, and when the divide between the haves and have-nots grows deeper by the day, Equality examines who’s winning, who’s losing and why. It’s rich terrain to cover, rooted in data and centered on business, finance, economics and policy.
We’re looking for a hands-on leader with enterprise chops, a global point of view and a keen sense of what matters right now — someone who can look at the biggest news stories and find a novel equality angle. This team leader must be able to elevate daily coverage into memorable stories that reveal how business really gets done and how access to opportunity and wealth is changing.

+ Drive Original Coverage: Generate sharp, original story ideas and spot news opportunities to deliver distinctive, authoritative coverage.
+ Coach and Edit for Impact: Edit copy with speed and clarity, strengthening reporters' instincts and encouraging experimentation while maintaining high standards for accuracy and deep reporting.
+ Foster Team Culture: Support a collaborative, energetic team where reporters feel empowered to pitch boldly and balance daily news with longer-range and creative projects.
You’ll need to have:
+ Significant experience in a fast-paced news environment, ideally with exposure to business, finance, economics or high-level consumer coverage.
+ A proven ability to edit quickly and thoughtfully, with strong news judgment and an ability to tackle stories with nuance.
+ The ability to juggle multiple stories, deadlines, and formats without losing focus or momentum.
+ A supportive, clear leadership style committed to developing talent.
Salary Range = 130000 - 180000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
