This posting will be used to fill a **PART-TIME (0.60)** at the Minnesota Veterans Homes (MVH) - Minneapolis Admissions department. The work schedule will include at least **48 hours per 2-week pay period** and may include additional work hours, based on business needs.
Minneapolis Veterans Homes is a skilled nursing facility, we are seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Admissions department. In this role, you will be responsible for vital clerical and administrative support for the Admissions department and is primarily responsible for supporting the admissions process through timely file management, care coordination and maintenance of medical records for incoming residents and wait list applicants. Position will provide facility tours to prospective clients through knowledgeable and informative guidance on services, amenities, and procedures. The position will also support nursing and the interdisciplinary teams and serve as a liaison between departments and stakeholders to ensure continuity of care.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Customer service skills sufficient to delivery prompt, welcoming, courteous, and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person, and through email and other written correspondence.
+ Skills in database management sufficient to enter and retrieve data and perform searches to find relevant information and generate reports.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to develop and maintain accurate medical records and transcribe medical reports, correspondence, records, and patient care information.
+ Ability to use word processing software, such as Microsoft Office, sufficient to produce documents such as emails, spreadsheets, memos, form letters and other correspondence in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. Ability to maintain confidential private information in accordance with laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
+ Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a copier, scanner, fax, computer, and printer.
Preferred Qualifications
+ One (1) year experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility.
+ Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases and managing electronic health records.
+ Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
+ Knowledge of the Minnesota Data Practices Act.
+ Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid.
Additional Requirements
+ Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
+ A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
