Job Summary
The Senior Accountant II – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting supports the preparation and review of SEC filings, internal financial packages, and assisting with technical accounting research.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.
Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.
Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.
Role Specific Accountabilities:
Supports the preparation and automation of SEC disclosures, including researching new or evolving reporting requirements.
Supports the analysis of the financial reporting impact of transactions
Participates in process improvement and transformation efforts.
Develops and delivers ad hoc financial reports
Monitors developments in accounting standards and reporting requirements, contributing to technical research and updates as needed.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience:
3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field
Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required
Skills:
• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems
• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills
• Process improvement oriented
• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process
