Role Definition
+ Manages employees and leaders that are responsible for the day-to-day operations and effectiveness of cyber security teams as well as security-related programs and initiatives; assesses the costs associated with potential threats and solutions required to eliminate or minimize threats.
Responsibilities
+ Develop training on information security risk metrics, polices, risk migration and remediations.
+ Manage development, implementation and enforcement of organization-wide security initiatives and control standards, policies and procedures.
+ Monitor and assess business needs against enterprise security policies and recommend necessary changes to enhance information systems security.
+ Champion talent development within the respective organization to maximize productivity of staff members.
Skill Required
+ **Budgeting:** Knowledge of organization's budget process; ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
+ **Planning:** Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
+ **Risk Management:** Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
+ **Talent Management:** Knowledge of the critical competencies required to achieve intended results; ability to generate consistent approaches for hiring, selection, retaining and leveraging talent across the organization.
+ **Team Management:** Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.
+ **Information Technology (IT) Security Policies:** Knowledge of IT security policies, standards, and procedures; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to ensure cyber security compliance.
+ **Cyber Security:** Knowledge of network attacks and the defenses used; ability to defend and prevent electronic threats, theft and attacks.

+ **Global Operating Experience** Proven success supporting and leading cross‑functional, multinational teams; comfortable navigating cultural differences, time zones, and matrixed organizational structures to deliver consistent security outcomes worldwide.
+ **Knowledge of Global Cybersecurity Regulations & Requirements** Strong awareness of regulatory frameworks across regions (e.g., DORA, SOX, ISO standards, and financial‑sector guidance), with the ability to translate compliance requirements into actionable, sustainable security controls.
+ **Cloud‑Based Cybersecurity Experience** Experienced in securing cloud environments and modern architectures, including identity‑centric security, cloud governance, threat detection, and secure design practices—aligned with competencies such as cloud security and security technologies highlighted in Cybersecurity.
Compensation & Benefits:
_Summary Pay Range:_
$151,440.00 - $242,304.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
