    Job Description:

    Role Synopsis

     

    The Measurement Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, safety and strategic direction of the measurement team supporting upstream oil and gas production. This role ensures accurate and reliable measurement of oil, gas, and water through effective calibration, troubleshooting, and data analysis. The manager will lead a team of field technicians and measurement specialists, driving standardization, documentation, issue resolution, work order management and cost improvement across the Eagle Ford assets. The expectation is that this role will spend at least half of the time in the field working on corrective actions.

    Key Accountabilities

    Team Leadership & Management

    + Supervise and mentor a team of field technicians and measurement specialists.

    + Coordinate daily and monthly workflows, ensuring timely resolution of meter issues.

    + Drive measurement consistency across field assets combined with detailed documentation.

    + Manage budgets and drive cycle time and cost improvements.

    + Effective communication with central teams that consume measurement data: production accounting, IT production/scada, & operations

    Field Operations & Oversight

    + Work with technicians and vendors to ensure safe and efficient corrective actions.

    + Support field technicians in calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining oil, gas, and water meters.

    + Spend at least half of time in the field working on corrective actions.

    + Ensure timely scheduling and dispatch to minimize unnecessary field travel through proactive work management.

    Measurement Data Monitoring & Analysis

    + Oversee daily coordination of meter data using Cygnet Vision, PI, and FMS systems.

    + Identify and resolve issues such as: Battery voltage drops, High differential pressure (DP) readings, static pressure anomalies, frozen or erroneous temperature readings, incorrect meter mapping or time sync issues

    + Ensure proper documentation and data recording for audit purposes

    Standardization & Optimization Initiatives

    + Lead efforts to standardize meter characteristics.

    + Implement configuration updates and remote optimizations across all Eagle Ford assets.

    + Coordinate with central and midstream teams to align measurement practices and data protocols.

    System & Workflow Improvements

    + Collaborate with SCADA, Automation, and Operations teams to streamline ticketing and issue resolution.

    + Lead continuous improvement on for system enhancements

    + Identify and address gaps in calibration protocols, work order issuance, and equipment readiness.

    Performance Monitoring & Reporting

    + Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including:

    + Budget and cost performance

    + Meter uptime percentage

    + Work order resolution time

    + Data accuracy rate

    + Reduction in field technician dispatches

    Essential Experience and Education

    + Degree in Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field (preferred).

    + 10+ years of experience in oil & gas measurement operations.

    + Proven leadership experience managing field technicians and technical teams

    + Strong understanding of measurement & scada systems (Cygnet, PI, FMS)

    + Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

    + Detailed knowledge of API MPMS / AGA standards

    + ABB/RTU, Emerson, Coriolis meter expertise

    + Experience with orifice plate analysis and beta ratio evaluations for balancing pads.

    + Knowledge of RTD, AMU, and meter configuration standards.

    + Ability to interpret and act on production data trends.

    + Proficiency in workflow management and cross-functional collaboration.

     

    How much do we pay (Base) $165,000-$194,000. Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
