Job description
Summary:
The equipment repair technician performs maintenance, repair and overhaul of complex aircraft components including Power Distribution, Ram Air Turbines and Generators.
Essential Duties & responsibilities:
• Performs hands-on maintenance tasks with complex mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or hydraulic aircraft components.
• Maintenance tasks include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting, parts requisitioning, repair, assembly and test.
• Uses and understands component maintenance manuals and other repair specifications.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area to a 6S standard.
• Understands or willing to learn company quality management system procedures.
• Accurately completes and takes responsibility for documentation of maintenance performed.
• May also perform build of similar new components per work instructions.
• Occasional painting and sand blasting activities, requiring respiratory training/PPE requirements.
• 100% clock-in time in SOLAR
• Maintain a minimum FPY rate of 90%
• Regular, predictable attendance is required.
• Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.

Must be able to lift up to 25lbs alone

Candidate skills & requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED.
• An associates degree, certification or 2-years experience in aviation maintenance, industrial or military organization.
Knowledge/Skills:
• Basic mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures, safety regulations and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in writing reports for quality
• Able to read/write English
• Must be willing to be respirator trained
• Above average ability to assemble and troubleshoot complex mechanisms
• Above average ability to read and comprehend detailed technical maintenance instructions
• Able to learn how to perform new tasks quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
• Completion of an FAA-approved Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
