Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Architecture and Shared Services team. This role is onsite and based in our San Jose, CA office five days a week, reporting to the Senior Director of Cloud Operations (Cloud Platform and Architecture).

You will lead the planning and execution phases for large-scale conversion projects while identifying critical improvements for cloud hyperscaler usability. By managing integration for scalability and expanding our virtualization infrastructure, you will implement the processes necessary to meet our complex organizational needs.

+ Manage and oversee cloud hyperscaler integration to ensure global scalability and reliability

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

+ 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering roles with a focus on designing, deploying, and maintaining physical and cloud infrastructure

+ Deep expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and experience managing Linux systems across bare metal, virtualized, and containerized deployments

+ Proven ability to lead large-scale infrastructure migration or modernization projects and experience supporting large-scale, highly available distributed systems

+ Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible, along with virtualization and container orchestration platforms

+ Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make high-impact technical decisions with minimal oversight

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

+ Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash

+ Experience with cloud cost management tools and FinOps practices

+ Background in zero-downtime deployments, incident management, and SRE practices

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$154,000—$220,000 USD
