    The Opportunity

The Nutanix Dataservices for Kubernetes (NDK) team plays a crucial role in designing and developing cloud native application disaster recovery solutions, aiming to advance the management of modern cloud native applications. Nutanix is building upon its industry leading hypervisor and storage offerings by leveraging them to develop best-in-breed data management services for modern cloud native applications.

    About the Team

     

    Nutanix Dataservices for Kubernetes product portfolio simplifies the management of business-critical applications by extending enterprise-grade application data management services to containerized applications. For developers, NDK speeds time to value and reduces operational risk by introducing a cloud native operating model. For business owners, NDK increases cost efficiency and simplifies the delivery of resilient and easy-to-use infrastructure. NDK also aims to alleviate user pain points around vendor lock-in by offering compatibility with many industry-standard Kubernetes distributions.

     

    You will report to a Senior Technical Manager who values autonomy in team members and fosters a culture of open communication focused on problem-solving. The manager's leadership style emphasizes empowerment, allowing engineers to explore their full potential while offering guidance and support when needed. This position is on-site in San Jose, requiring team members to work from the office. There are no travel requirements associated with this role, allowing team members to focus entirely on their development tasks and collaboration efforts within the office.

    Your Role

    + Assess product requirements for cloud native disaster recovery and backup solutions. Design easy-to-use features and develop robust implementations to meet the requirements.

    + Enhance supportability, performance, and reliability of the product to meet the demands of the fast-paced evolution of cloud native applications.

    + Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving within a global team environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams spread across geographic boundaries.

    + Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of development processes.

    + Have a consistent focus on product quality and influence product tests and frameworks to ensure a robust product.

    + Utilize version control and DevOps tools to streamline development workflows for efficiency.

    + Set personal growth objectives and actively seek learning opportunities to advance your career

    What You Will Bring

    + Love of programming and proficiency in at least one programming language:

    + Golang, Python, Java, C, C++.

    + Strong development experience in Linux/Unix-based platforms.

    + Experience with version control and DevOps tools.

    + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to collaborate with co-workers across geographic boundaries.

    + 1–3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering

    + Prior experience with projects in the cloud native area, dealing with containerization, container orchestration, disaster recovery, and virtualization, is desirable but not required.

     

    Work Arrangement

     

    Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. Workplace type may vary based on location and team requirements. Please speak with your recruiter for details. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

     

    The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $109,600 and USD $218,400 per year.

     

    However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

     

    If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
