Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a Civil/Site Engineering Intern to join our team in the McLean, VA office for Summer 2026!
Colliers Engineering & Design, an affiliate of Colliers, is a trusted provider of multi-discipline engineering, design and consulting services to public and private sector clients. Headquartered in Holmdel, New Jersey with 80+ offices throughout the United States, we specialize in providing a comprehensive suite of services including: civil/site, transportation, MEP (mechanical, electrical & plumbing) engineering, architecture, geospatial/survey, infrastructure, governmental, geotechnical/environmental, telecommunications and utilities engineering. Responsibilities
+ Read and review project drawings and plans
+ Confer with engineers about preparing plans.
+ Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software under the charge of Engineers.
+ Evaluate pre-construction field conditions.
+ Observe project sites and evaluate contractors’ work to detect problems with a design.
+ Prepare reports and document project activities and data.
+ Prepare analyses from collected data.
+ Set up and help maintain project files and records.
+ Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
+ Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.
+ Other duties as assigned.
+ In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.
Qualifications
+ Currently attending a college or university in the United States and pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related degree.
+ Hydrology type work or coursework and Hydraulics coursework.
+ AutoCAD experience preferred.
+ Civil 3D experience preferred.
+ HydroCAD experience a plus.
+ Site/Civil interest specifically Land Development.
+ Students with some prior internship experience are preferred, but any candidates who apply will be reviewed and considered for different roles.
+ Junior or senior standing (going into Junior or Senior year).
+ Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Additional networking and trainings specific to the students' areas of study are also made available to students throughout the Summer Internship program.

On average, we make full-time, permanent offers to students approaching graduation within a year more than 50% of the time.
