ConnectLife Driver- Mobile Blood Donation

This position is Full-Time, schedule rotates M-F week 1, Tues-Saturday week 2

Job Summary:

+ Support the blood donation team by driving one of mobile vehicles for use in any of daily mobile blood drives.

+ Position includes the loading and unloading of supplies, as well as assisting with setting up and breaking down of the event.

+ Assist in registering blood donors with excellent customer service, and stocking refreshment areas, as needed.

+ Deliver the blood products to our ConnectLife Blood Lab from mobile blood drives or any of our fixed sites. Delivery of inventory to fixed sites and mobile blood drives as needed. Deliver blood products to hospitals as needed.

+ Maintain vehicle logs as needed per vehicle guidelines.

Pay:

$20.50/ hr non-CDL

$25.00/ hr with valid NYS CDL A or B License

Schedule:

+ Hours generally between 6:30am - 6:30pm ($2 shift differential for hours worked outside these times)

+ Rotating Saturdays (M-F week 1, Tues-Fri week 2)

Education Requirements:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

+ Prior customer service experience preferred.

+ Prior driving experience preferred.

+ CDL A or B License preferred, but not required.

Essential Job Functions:

+ Drive, load and unload mobile vehicles to and from blood drives.

+ Initiate blood donor registration by greeting donors, perform ID check, and obtain eligibility date for returning donors.

+ Assist with the setting up and breaking down of mobile blood drives.

+ Ensure that all blood drive vehicles are stocked with blood draw supplies.

+ Once blood donation is complete, pack the blood product into cooler in preparation for transport. Will assist phlebotomists with any biohazard spills and blood donor adverse reaction.

+ Deliver blood to the Blood lab from mobile blood drives and or fixed sites. Delivery of inventory to fixed sites and mobile blood drives as needed. Deliver blood products to hospitals as needed.

+ Performs Materials Management functions, to include logging in of reagents and critical supplies on appropriate forms as they arrive. Puts supplies away in the storage area based on the “first in-first out” principle. Assists in the management of critical supply lot release.

+ Notify facilities when any issues with vehicles arise.

+ Maintain vehicle logs as needed per vehicle guidelines.

+ Returns ConnectLife vehicles to the garage with a minimum of half a tank of gas.

+ Maintain safety standards in/about facility, (i.e., snow removal from doorways, identify/remove slip and fall hazards, etc.)

+ Perform routine support functions such as stocking, maintenance, and general housekeeping.

+ May be dispatched on an as-needed basis to perform necessary facilities functions at any one of ConnectLife remote fixed sites.
