    The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.     Role Purpose

     

    The Lead, Diesel Procurement Role is responsible for ensuring the reliable supply of materials, equipment, and services to support plant operations, achieved through on-time delivery, cost-effective procurement, high-quality standards, and supplier performance management. The role focuses on minimizing inventories while optimizing material utilization and supporting competitive cost structures.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Champion the corporate Global Buying Policy, ensuring compliance and educating plant end-users.

    + Collaborate with GSM business supply managers and category managers to develop and execute short- and long-term strategic sourcing plans.

    + Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives within the plant supply chain and support GSM-led initiatives.

    + Ensure reliable supply of raw materials, packaging, consumables, spare parts, and MRO equipment for the plant’s continuous manufacturing operations.

    + Prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with detailed specifications and terms.

    + Conduct supplier negotiations to secure maximum value.

    + Oversee inventory management, minimizing materials on hand and addressing obsolete or slow-moving items.

    + Manage the integrated storeroom solution and develop strong relationships with suppliers.

    + Own supplier relationship management, including performance measurement and corrective action.

    + Provide procurement leadership to support plant initiatives and develop annual budgets for the procurement function.

    + Provide guidance and leadership to direct reports.

    Experiences/Education - Required

    + Bachelor’s degree in a business-related concentration (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration/Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics)

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, including sourcing, inventory management, and logistics

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    + Experience with systems such as PeopleSoft/PRISM, SAP, Ariba, or similar

    Experiences/Education - Desired

    + Supervisory experience is preferred

    + Experience as a plant or corporate buyer preferred

    + Relevant certifications (CPM, CSCP, CPIM, etc.)

    + Knowledge of SOX compliance

    Location & Travel:

    + This position will be based at Corning, NY (HQ) and onsite 5-days per week.

    + Less than 10% travel

    The range for this position is $110,347.00 - $151,728.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
