    Description

At Audible, we believe stories have the power to transform lives. It’s why we work with some of the world’s leading creators to produce and share audio storytelling with our millions of global listeners. We are dreamers and inventors who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to empower and inspire each other. Imagine your future with us.

    ABOUT THIS ROLE

Does the power of storytelling, audio innovation, and immersive experiences inspire you? Does the idea of shaping how millions of listeners discover, enjoy, and connect with stories every day excite you? At Audible, we’re redefining what listening can be—and we’re looking for a Sr UX Design Technologist who can drive innovation at the intersection of design and technology, transforming bold ideas into breakthrough experiences while revolutionizing how we work.

    ABOUT YOU

You'll be equal parts inventor and catalyst—pushing the boundaries of what's possible in audio experiences while reimagining our design-to-development workflow to eliminate bottlenecks and accelerate innovation. You'll champion a "build to think" philosophy where prototyping isn't just part of the handoff—it's how you explore the future, prove out new concepts, and discover solutions that traditional design methods can't uncover.

As a Senior UX Design Technologist, you will...

    - Build prototypes that drive strategy and decision-making—from rapid explorations that validate new concepts to production-ready implementations that prove technical feasibility, demonstrate customer value, and set the standard for what Audible experiences should feel like

    - Partner with UX designers, researchers, and engineers to evaluate concepts, refine interactions, and ensure design intent carries through to implementation

    - Contribute to Audible’s design system by developing scalable, accessible components and patterns across products and platforms that accelerate product velocity, ensure accessibility, and create a consistent foundation for innovation

    - Bridge design vision and engineering reality—working embedded with product teams to ensure design intent translates faithfully into implementation while identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce cycle time

    - Continuously study emerging technologies, cultural behaviors, and design trends to inform and inspire new ideas

    - Collaborate across teams to test prototypes with real users and incorporate insights quickly into iterative design cycles

    ABOUT AUDIBLE

Audible is the leading producer and provider of audio storytelling. We spark listeners’ imaginations, offering immersive, cinematic experiences full of inspiration and insight to enrich our customers daily lives. We are a global company with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are dreamers and inventors who are passionate about the positive impact Audible can make for our customers and our neighbors. This spirit courses throughout Audible, supporting a culture of creativity and inclusion built on our People Principles and our mission to build more equitable communities in the cities we call home.

    Basic Qualifications

    - Experience collaborating with UX, Product, and technical partners

    - Experience in front end technologies such as HTML, CSS and Javascript

    - Experience building prototypes to advance design thinking and the final product experience

    - Knowledge of UX and Visual Design concepts and best practices

    - Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment

    - Experience translating design concepts into high-fidelity, performant code across web and/or mobile surfaces

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Knowledge of databases and AWS database services: ElasticSearch, Redshift, DynamoDB

    - Knowledge of AWS tech stack (e.g., AWS Redshift, S3, EC2, Glue)

    - Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers, or experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

    - Experience with motion design

    - Experience with voice interface, natural language or multimodal design

    - Experience managing UX programs and working with Design and Research

    - Experience with hardware hacking/prototyping (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Particle Maker Kit, etc.)

    - Comfort operating across multiple platforms and modalities (web, mobile, hardware, voice, spatial) with the judgment to choose the right medium for the problem at hand

    - Familiarity with prototyping tools and frameworks (e.g., Framer, React Native, SwiftUI, WebGL, Three.js, etc.)

    - Exposure to AI-related technologies, including LLMs, with an interest in exploring responsible, user-centric applications
