    Description

    We are seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Bookkeeper to join our Development team in Harrisburg, PA. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys working with financial data, donor relations, and administrative operations in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy while supporting meaningful donor engagement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Manage daily mail operations for the Development department, including sorting, opening, and preparing deposits

    + Process and record donations across all payment methods, ensuring precise entry and validation in Raiser’s Edge

    + Prepare and submit invoices to Accounts Payable to support timely and accurate payments

    + Maintain confidential records and databases, safeguarding donor and constituent information with care and accuracy

    + Coordinate estate documentation by working with legal, financial, and insurance professionals to obtain required materials

    + Draft professional correspondence and donor acknowledgments, ensuring timely and thoughtful communication

    + Oversee office supply management and collaborate with vendors to support department needs

    + Support development events, assisting with scheduling, logistics, and administrative coordination

    + Serve as a liaison between the department and external vendors for outreach initiatives

    + Provide general administrative support to Development staff as needed

    Requirements

    + Proven experience in bookkeeping, including handling accounts payable and receivable.

    + Strong proficiency in bank reconciliations and maintaining financial records.

    + Exceptional communication skills to interact professionally with donors, staff, and vendors.

    + High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.

    + Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.

    + Ability to manage donor communication and correspondence effectively.

    + Confidence in handling sensitive financial and estate-related documentation.

    + Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
