We are looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst with heavy processing, analysis and reporting experience! In this role, you will oversee payroll operations and tax compliance for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulations. This is a long-term contract position ideal for individuals skilled in managing complex payroll systems and multi-state tax requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Process semi-monthly payroll for a workforce of approximately 21,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Utilize Workday and SmartCompliance systems to manage payroll tax tasks, including audits, reconciliations, and performance analysis.

• Conduct tax audits, ensure timely tax deposits and filings, and resolve tax notifications efficiently.

• Analyze and address complex payroll and tax issues, providing sustainable solutions and implementing process improvements.

• Partner with service providers to manage tax filings, reconcile invoices, and ensure compliance with regulations.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, offering guidance and actionable recommendations to improve payroll processes.

• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, providing guidance on implementation and ensuring compliance across payroll functions.

• Lead process improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of efficient payroll and tax workflows.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across the organization.

• Participate in cross-training opportunities to support departmental functions and enhance team capabilities.P

Requirements

•7+ years of experience in payroll management, with expertise in full-cycle payroll processes.

• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and tax regulations.

• Proficiency in Workday Payroll and SmartCompliance systems.

• CPP certification is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience managing payroll for large-scale operations, including over 10,000 employees

• Skilled in payroll tax reporting, reconciliation, and garnishments.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll and tax issues.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and service providers.
