Description
We are looking for Staff Accountant with an analytical mind to join our team on a contract basis in Walnut Creek, California. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for professionals with foundational accounting experience to contribute to key financial operations. You will play an integral role in supporting the Finance and Accounting team with transactional activities, reconciliations, and reporting tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Process and analyze accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions efficiently.
• Manage commission calculations and ensure accurate processing.
• Perform account reconciliations to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
• Generate financial reports and summaries using Microsoft Excel.
• Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central) for transactional accounting activities.
• Assist with cash application processes and ensure timely completion.
• Identify discrepancies in financial data and resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize accounting workflows.
• Support the preparation of key financial insights for internal stakeholders.
Requirements • 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a detail-focused setting.
• Proficiency in accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and accounting principles.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems.
• Experience with commission processing and account reconciliations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
