    Job Title: PharmacistPosition Summary

     

    The Pharmacist plays a key role in overseeing pharmacy operations and ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications. This position includes comprehensive drug screening, order processing, and dispensing responsibilities.     Primary Responsibilities

    + Manage daily pharmacy operations, including workflow coordination, production goals, and meeting established deadlines.

    + Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, DEA requirements, and third‑party payer policies.

    + Supervise pharmacy production staff to maintain efficient order entry, secure pharmacy operations, and adherence to delivery timelines.

    + Verify the accuracy and completeness of all new and refill prescriptions, labels, and medication packaging.

    + Oversee the preparation and quality assurance of sterile IV medications and solutions.

    + Support the ordering, receiving, documentation, and secure storage of controlled substances, including maintaining perpetual inventory for Schedule II medications.

    + Participate in scheduled on‑call rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    + Ensure the workflow dashboard is fully cleared each day.

    + Adhere to all applicable regulations, including HIPAA.

    + Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

    + Follow departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy

    + Active, unrestricted pharmacy license in good standing

    + Strong clinical interpretation skills, including assessment of drug‑drug, drug‑disease, drug‑food interactions, and allergy considerations

    + Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English

    + Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

    + Ability to dispense medications accurately and efficiently

    + Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

    Work Environment

    This role is based in a long‑term care pharmacy setting and involves regular use of standard office and pharmacy equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. The environment may be loud at times. The position requires sitting or standing for extended periods (7–10 hours), with occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, and walking. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Travel is not expected.

    Schedule:

    + Staff Pharmacists work four 10‑hour shifts per week.

    + Pharmacy hours:

    + Monday–Friday: 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

    + Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

    + Holidays: 6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

    + Closing shift may be required to stay until all work is completed.

    + Weekend rotations occur every 2nd or 3rd weekend, depending on staffing.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tyler, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
