    Job Title: Utility Design TechnicianJob Description

     

    Join a dynamic team as a Utility Design Technician, where you will play a crucial role in designing and coordinating utility projects. This position requires a blend of technical skills and customer service, ensuring the successful implementation of gas and electric systems for new developments and contributing to wildfire mitigation efforts.

    Responsibilities

    + Serve as the primary liaison between customers, construction teams, and utility providers.

    + Design facilities using GIS-based Design Manager, adhering to engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

    + Interpret construction drawings to define project scope.

    + Manage multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery.

    + Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and internal teams to advance projects.

    + Secure necessary permits and easements for construction.

    + Execute contracts and agreements in compliance with administrative and regulatory guidelines.

    + Provide accurate cost estimates and generate work orders using SAP for construction teams.

    + Conduct occasional field visits to assess project sites.

    + Participate in client meetings to determine project requirements.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong customer service skills and work ethic.

    + Technical aptitude with experience in design software and GIS.

    + High School Diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in design, construction, or a related field is preferred.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    + Working knowledge of GIS or similar mapping software is required.

    + Valid driver's license and vehicle.

    + Strong communication skills for customer coordination.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with SAP platform is preferred.

    + Previous utility design experience is a plus.

    + Experience working with underground utilities is a plus.

    + Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.

    + Excellent time management and organizational skills.

    + Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities.

    Work Environment

    The role offers a unique blend of customer-facing and technical responsibilities. In the Developer-Driven Design team, you will directly coordinate with clients and construction teams. Alternatively, the Wildfire Design Team focuses on internal, technical work without customer interaction. The position is based in a modern office in Dove Valley, CO, with flexible start times available after training. The work schedule includes a 1.5-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks daily.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenwood Village, CO.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
