    We are seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to support the development of containerization across three large Navy ship and submarine platforms. This role involves working with a range of technologies from commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) sonar/acoustic systems to submarine subsystems, communication systems, and specialty sensors. The systems developed ensure submarines function properly, scan the water to detect threats, and keep sailors aware and safe.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform software integration.

    + Enable a Linux system to function with a private cloud, including testing and debugging code.

    + Work with containers and orchestrators.

    + Design, develop, and deploy containers using Kubernetes in a Linux OS environment.

    + Optimize system performance, security, and scalability.

    + Develop Kubernetes rulesets for scheduling.

    + Implement interprocess communication within containers.

    + Optimize GPU performance.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Kubernetes and Linux.

    + Experience in software integration and container management.

    + Knowledge of bash and Python scripting.

    + Experience in cluster orchestration, including Kubernetes.

    + Familiarity with technologies like Prometheus and Rancher.

    + Understanding of Agile methodologies.

    + Experience with version control systems such as Git and SVN.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

    + 3+ years of development and integration experience with Linux/Unix Operating System.

    + Experience with designing and building containers with Kubernetes.

    + Familiarity with GPU optimization within containers.

    + Proficiency with RKE2 and KubeVIP.

    + Eligible for Secret Clearance (must have interim Secret minimum to start).

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a 2000+ person site located in Manassas, VA. The schedule is flexible, offering options such as 4/10s, 9/80, or a traditional 5 days/40 hour week. Employees have opportunities to work on programs like ARCI, SE&I, and MES, enhancing their technology knowledge and skills. The SE&I program integrates various combat subsystems into a cohesive combat system for U.S. Navy submarines, which is a system of systems managing all technical products integrated into submarine combat systems.

    This is a Contract position based out of Manassas, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
