    Job Title: WHE Mechanic Trainee** **Job Description

     

    Join our team as a WHE Mechanic Trainee, where you will play an integral role in supporting our shipping, machining, and welding departments. You will assist assemblers and welders in refurbishing Plated Heat Exchangers, performing tasks ranging from minor assembly to maintaining a clean work environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Constantly lift, move, and stack materials.

    + Receive, count, document, and label parts.

    + Sweep, clean, and organize work areas.

    + Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.

    + Inspect, photograph, and document irregularities in materials.

    + Follow directions with strong attention to detail.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 2 years experience as a welder helper, assembler, or in a mechanical role.

    + Strong mechanical skills.

    + Ability to follow directions and listen attentively.

    + Good hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity.

    + High School Diploma.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in the automotive mechanic field is preferred.

    + Forklift and overhead crane experience.

    + Stable work history, avoiding frequent job changes every 6-12 months.

    Work Environment

    The work is set in a manufacturing environment focused on refurbishing heat exchange units. Teamwork is essential, and daily responsibilities may vary. Flexibility for shift changes is required, with candidates starting on the 1st shift (6am-4:30pm) for approximately four weeks before transitioning to the 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm). Currently, the work involves 10-hour shifts, with potential for 12-hour shifts and weekend work when needed.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Porte, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
