    Job Title: Environmental Project ManagerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Project Manager who will take ownership of projects from award through to completion. This role involves establishing project objectives, milestones, budgets, and schedules, as well as overseeing the procurement of supplies and materials necessary for project success.

    Responsibilities

    + Take ownership of a project upon award and ensure its completion.

    + Establish project objectives, milestones, budgets, and schedules.

    + Procure supplies and materials for project buy-out.

    + Provide guidance to Foremen and Superintendents in planning, organizing, and directing activities related to schedule, labor, equipment, materials, and disposal.

    + Monitor production and project costs to ensure timely job completion.

    + Review and sign off on daily manpower and progress reports.

    + Update a 3-week look ahead for all projects continually.

    + Interact regularly with customers and lead negotiations for any scope discrepancies or issues on-site.

    + Develop proactive relationships with subcontractors.

    + Oversee all change order requests and submit them in conjunction with estimating and finance.

    + Ensure project close-out packages are completed and jobs can be billed in full.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 5 years working as a Project Manager in environmental remediation.

    + Experience in abatement and environmental remediation.

    + Experience managing federal government contracts is preferred.

    + Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

    + Ability to pass a federal government background screen.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.

    + OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.

    + Experience in demolition, asbestos, site assessment, PFAS, lead, and report writing.

    Work Environment

    This position is onsite in Norfolk, VA, supporting Federal ShipYard Work. The role requires coordinating actions with other workers on busy construction sites, completing projects on time, and maintaining regular and prompt attendance. The ability to pick up construction debris and occasionally lift 50 lbs is necessary. Candidates must be able to sit for prolonged periods with occasional standing and walking. Benefits include 2 weeks of PTO, up to 8 federal holidays or 56 hours of sick time, and growth opportunities from Site Superintendent to Project Manager or Operations Manager internally.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Portsmouth, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
