    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Greenhouse Technician to join our team. This role involves working in a dynamic greenhouse environment and is perfect for someone with a passion for plant science and agriculture. As a Greenhouse Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and growth of various crop varieties, supporting experimental research, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

    Responsibilities

    + Responsible for daily greenhouse plant care, including pollination, transplanting, watering, harvesting, and seed management for crops such as corn, soybean, wheat, canola, and other varieties.

    + Support experimental procedures, assist in data collection, and maintain comprehensive records.

    + Perform routine greenhouse sanitation tasks, such as disposing of regulated materials and destroying waste, in accordance with safety protocols.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, entomology, or a related plant science discipline is preferred but not mandatory.

    + Alternatively, two or more years of relevant experience or equivalent education will be considered.

    Work Environment

    This is a long-term contract opportunity located on a beautiful campus in Johnston, IA. The work shift is from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with a shifted schedule of Wednesday to Sunday or Saturday to Wednesday. The role includes holiday and PTO benefits. You will be working in a warm, humid greenhouse environment with exposure to pollen throughout the year.

    This is a Contract position based out of Johnston, IA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
