Job Title: Ammonia Technician** **Job Description
The employee is responsible for all activities involving maintenance and operation of the ammonia refrigeration system. Additional responsibilities may include the maintenance of HVAC, boiler systems, hot water generator, compressed air systems, building sprinkler systems, and other supporting equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and operate ammonia refrigeration system and possibly other equipment such as building heating and air conditioning systems, boiler systems, hot water generators, and compressed air systems.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, vessels, valves, and other machinery associated with ammonia refrigeration equipment.
+ Work directly with refrigeration contractors, electricians, and pipefitters to ensure compliance with company safety policies and work standards.
+ Coordinate operations and maintenance of utility systems to support production schedule and facility conditions.
+ Assist with recordkeeping and training for Process Safety Management/Risk Management Plans to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
+ Provide technical analysis and services for real-time data on refrigeration and operational equipment status.
+ Ensure ammonia compressors operate safely and efficiently.
+ Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
+ Utilize drawings and technical records for Preventive Maintenance documentation related to machine overhauls and repairs.
+ Handle maintenance emergencies as required.
+ Complete duties in accordance with quality assurance, Good Manufacturing Practices, safety, and other company programs and procedures.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
+ Direct daily work of refrigeration technicians, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety standards, and SOPs.
+ Train team members on safe equipment operation, GMPs, and company procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Ammonia refrigeration expertise
+ Troubleshooting skills
+ Experience as an Ammonia Technician and Maintenance Technician
+ Electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical/refrigeration/utilities field in an industrial or manufacturing setting is preferred.
+ 3 years of experience working with Ammonia refrigeration.
+ Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration system is a must.
+ GCAP Ammonia Technician Certification preferred.
+ High school diploma or GED preferred.
+ PSM training preferred.
+ Knowledge of equipment setup, functions, operating procedures, and preventative maintenance techniques.
+ Experience in a maintenance department, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
+ Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CMMS, and L2L.
+ Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
+ Ability to work with limited supervision.
+ Willingness to cover other days and weekends as needed.
+ Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings.

Work Environment
1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm with overtime expected. Flexibility is preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $72800.00/yr.
