Job Title: Test Engineer

Job Description

Join our team as a Test Engineer where you will develop and execute test plans for cold-chain automation systems, including robotics, conveyors, sensors, and control software. You will conduct temperature-based and environmental testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards for cold-chain automation, safety, and reliability.

Responsibilities

+ Develop and execute test plans for cold-chain automation systems, including robotics, conveyors, sensors, and control software.

+ Conduct temperature-based and environmental testing, including thermal cycling, humidity exposure, condensation analysis, and freeze-thaw stress testing.

+ Validate system performance across temperature ranges from ambient to deep-freeze conditions.

+ Design test fixtures, instrumentation setups, and data-collection methods for environmental and mechanical testing.

+ Analyze test data, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive corrective actions.

+ Simulate real-world cold-chain scenarios, including packaging variability, product loads, and operational edge cases.

+ Ensure compliance with industry standards for cold-chain automation, safety, and environmental reliability.

+ Document test results, create reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

+ Minimum 5 years of professional engineering experience, preferably with testing complex systems/products.

+ Hands-on experience with temperature testing or environmental testing OR Experience testing automation equipment, robotics, or electromechanical systems.

+ Strong understanding of root-cause analysis, failure modes, and test-driven development.

+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and test specifications.

+ Background in industrial automation, PLC systems, or embedded controls testing.

+ Familiarity with environmental chambers, data loggers, temperature sensors, and humidity control systems.

+ Proficiency with data-analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience working with components such as evaporators, assemblies, and plate heat exchangers, considering thermal principles in design/testing.

Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic environment where innovation and technology are at the forefront. This role involves working with cutting-edge cold-chain automation technologies. Expect to work in temperature-controlled settings, including freezer environments ranging from 0°C to –30°C or lower. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, and a commitment to safety and environmental reliability is paramount.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
