Job Title: R&D / Development Engineer
Job Description
The R&D Engineer will collaborate with the product development team to conceive, develop, prototype, test, and debug a electrode mapping catheter program in alignment with established policies, goals, and objectives. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to make sound technical decisions, prioritize project deadlines, and follow up to complete critical items. The role requires rapidly generating numerous design concepts, narrowing them down, and selecting the best option through a mix of analysis and prototyping. Additionally, the ability to motivate others to meet timelines and deliverables is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Design prototypes and feasibility models for proof of concept testing.
+ Design and document catheter prototypes through production-released products.
+ Develop and improve manufacturing processes to pilot production level.
+ Support efforts to verify and validate new product designs.
+ Help prepare project plans, specifications, and schedules for new product development.
+ Prepare and manage test protocols, reports, and lab notebooks.
+ Identify and interact with vendors to obtain engineering materials, processes, and equipment.
+ Perform routine analysis of test results in relation to design specifications and test objectives.
+ Assist the engineering team in maintaining an adequate inventory of engineering and prototype materials.
+ Work closely with other engineers, technicians, contract manufacturers, assemblers, and support personnel.
+ Support the manufacture of new and existing products.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks.
+ Experience with medical devices, specifically catheter systems.
+ 3+ years of relevant experience.
+ Knowledge of cradle-to-grave process, mechanical engineering, process improvement, and design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous work history in the electrode mapping catheter product space.
Work Environment
The company operates in a fast-paced environment, focusing primarily on catheter-only projects with quick turnarounds. The team is currently small, with 10 employees, but benefits from the backing of a large mid-sized company, providing substantial funding and support. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $47.00/hr.
