    Job Title: Civil DrafterJob Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled 2D AutoCAD drafter to join our team in Tampa, focusing on solid waste and environmental projects for private and municipal clients. In this role, you will collaborate with our engineering staff to incorporate mark-ups, prepare figures, and draft permit/construction drawings. With experience and company-sponsored training, you will have the opportunity to advance to a Civil 3D Drafter, working on horizontal and vertical construction, plan and profile views, cross-sections, and intricate grading and cut/fill balancing.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform drafting, layout work, and straightforward calculations/measurements for design/construction drawings.

    + Follow drafting standards, using layers, line types, hatches, and pen tables.

    + Prepare plan set drawings, such as site plans and existing conditions plans, from existing maps or sketches.

    + Communicate professionally using Outlook email, virtual meeting applications, and in person.

    + Utilize AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel to complete tasks and responsibilities.

    + Quickly communicate issues and foreseeable problems to Project Managers.

    Essential Skills

    + 1+ year of AutoCAD drafting experience for civil projects.

    + Competent use and knowledge of AutoCAD2023 or newer.

    + Understanding of drafting standards, layers, line types, hatches, and pen tables.

    + Desire and ability to grow into a role involving Civil 3D, landfill design, and environmental services.

    + Self-motivation and reliability.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associates degree or vocational school training in drafting preferred.

    + Experience with engineering consulting firms is preferred.

    + Presence in the Tampa office is required.

    + Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

    Work Environment

    This position is based in the Tampa office, which accommodates 25-30 staff members, including engineers and administrative support. The role is full-time in the office with the possibility of one work-from-home day after full training.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
