Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to document physician visits in an EMR system, scribe for multiple physicians, assist physicians with instruments as requested, conduct work-ups after doctor visits with patients, and communicate with patients based on the documented plan provided by the doctor.
Responsibilities
+ Document physician visits accurately in the EMR system.
+ Scribe for multiple physicians during consultations.
+ Assist physicians with instruments as requested.
+ Perform patient work-ups following doctor visits.
+ Communicate effectively with patients based on the doctor's documented plan.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in medical assisting and medical terminology.
+ Experience with patient care and EMR systems.
+ Strong knowledge in ophthalmology and medical documentation.
+ Ability to perform data entry efficiently.
+ Excellent typing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BS/AS in a life science field.
+ Minimum of 1 year of on-site scribing experience.
+ Preferred ophthalmic experience.
+ Ability to multi-task in a high-volume patient care environment.
+ Driven/ 'Type A' personality.
Work Environment
The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with hours scheduled between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM based on clinic needs. Training will take place at the admin building in the Galleria for the first week. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, handling 80-100 patients a day, in a team of 8-24 individuals. Employees are tied to three clinics, with the home clinic being one of the busiest in Houston. Schedule is provided two weeks in advance and mileage reimbursement is offered for travel to clinics outside the assigned three. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs, short and groomed nails, and hair must be tied back.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaumont, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.
