Job Title: CNC Set Up/Operator** **Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Set Up/Operator who can proficiently operate all CNC machines. The role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, understand basic design principles, and suggest improvements when necessary. The position involves setting up and using precision measuring tools to ensure work meets specifications. Effective communication regarding work order status and task completion is essential. The role typically involves short run orders of 5-20 pieces and requires multiple setups throughout the day.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate CNC machines independently.
+ Make necessary adjustments and perform set-ups.
+ Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
+ Conduct in-process inspections and maintain tight tolerances.
+ Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding work order status and completion.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with CNC, machinist, and lathe operations.
+ Proficiency in CNC set up and operation.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Skill in making offsets and adjustments.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience using CNC machines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds.
+ Understanding of and ability to apply shop math.
+ Basic mechanical aptitude in troubleshooting CNC machines.
+ Proficiency in operating CNC lathe machines.
+ Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to use a computer and set up toolroom machines.

Work Environment
This role requires frequent standing and walking, as well as the use of hands to operate machines, measuring devices, and computers. The position demands close vision and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. You will work closely with CNC programmers and engineers, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager. The role involves prioritizing workload and discussing technical problems with your manager and engineering team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Haven, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
