    Job Description

    As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for moving inventory and pulling orders throughout the day, primarily focusing on glass hardware parts. You will utilize a physical order sheet to select orders and prepare them for shipment. Initially, the only equipment used will be a box cutter, but training will be provided on pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts.

    Responsibilities

    + Pick orders and prepare them for shipment using a physical order sheet.

    + Operate a box cutter, manual pallet jack, and sit-down forklift as needed.

    + Package glass hardware and manage inventory.

    + Unloading trucks, breaking down pallets, sorting, packaging, labeling, quantifying, staging, and cycle counting.

    + Lift up to 50 pounds throughout the day and occasionally up to 75 pounds.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 3 months of experience with order picking.

    + Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

    + Ability to read and interpret an order sheet.

    + Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with sit-down forklifts is advantageous.

    + Previous warehouse picking, shipping, and receiving experience.

    + Basic computer skills.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a very large warehouse with extensive aisles of inventory. The environment is clean, though not temperature-controlled, and noise levels can vary from moderate to high. The dress code requires pants, work-appropriate attire, and steel-toe shoes, with all other PPE provided.

    This is a Contract position based out of ELGIN, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
