About Our Organization
DASA DE&C manages the Army's Security Assistance and Armaments Cooperation programs that engage allies and partners across the full spectrum of Army acquisition to achieve force dominance. We lead the U.S. Army Security Assistance Enterprise (ASAE), providing leadership, resource management and policy oversight. We build the capabilities of allies and partners, strengthen relationships with our foreign partners, and strengthen the U.S. industrial base.
Position Overview
As a Weapons Systems Analyst, you will serve as a recognized technical and programmatic authority for DASA DE&C on assigned weapon systems, focusing on Security Cooperation, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and Armaments Cooperation. You will be co-located with DASA DEC, or in PAEs in either the Maneuver – Air, Maneuver – Ground, Agile Sustainment, or Fires domains. Your primary function is to bridge the gap between Army Title 10 acquisition processes and the international acquisition enterprise, providing expert analysis on cost, schedule, and performance while ensuring exportability and foreign partner requirements are planned for early and often. This role is critical to improving equipment allocation, managing complex FMS cases, and strengthening the Defense Industrial Base through international partnerships.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
+ Acquisition and Programmatic Integration: Serve as the primary DASA DE&C authority on the technical and programmatic details of weapon systems within one of the following domains: Missiles and Space, Aviation, or Ground Systems. Advise PEOs and Program Managers on integrating exportability considerations and foreign partner requirements early in the acquisition lifecycle.
+ Analysis and Strategic Support: Analyze weapon system production capacity and foreign demand to support the Equipment Distribution Review Board (EDRB) with rigorous analysis and recommendations. Identify and develop potential co-production, co-development, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) opportunities with international partners.
+ Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory: Maintain close, collaborative relationships at the Action Officer level with PEOs, Life Cycle Management Commands (LCMCs), and Security Assistance Management Directorates (SAMDs). Prepare and present detailed reports, talking points, and briefings to DASA DE&C senior leadership to provide actionable insights.
Required Experience:
Essential Requirements
+ Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
+ Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience, including significant firsthand experience working directly within a Program Executive Office (PEO), Project/Program Office, or other DoD acquisition program.
+ Acquisition Expertise: Proven expertise in DoD acquisition processes, including a strong understanding of cost, schedule, and performance management.
+ Leadership Engagement: Demonstrated ability to advise and engage effectively with senior leadership (military and civilian) on complex programmatic challenges.
+ Collaboration: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment and build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders across the acquisition and security assistance communities.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field.
+ Program Management: At least five (5) years of direct experience in DoD Program Management.
+ Technical Expertise: Deep technical or operational experience with Army programs of record in Missiles and Space, Aviation, or Ground Systems.
+ Security Cooperation Knowledge: Familiarity with the Army Security Assistance Enterprise (ASAE), FMS case lifecycle, and exportability planning.
Work Environment
+ Location: Huntsville, AL
+ Travel: Travel may be required up to 25% of the time to support stakeholder engagements and program reviews.
+ Schedule: Full-time, on-site at government facilities.
+ Collaboration: Regardless of physical location, all team members are required to maintain a full virtual presence and actively participate in team meetings, discussions, and collaborative efforts via MS Teams, or other collaborative applications as directed during core business hours.
