THE POSITION
Are you a motivated and adaptable person who excels with details both in the office and as part of your hunting and trapping experience? The Pennsylvania Game Commission needs you for our Hunter Education and Outreach Division team! This Management Technician position is your chance to combine your skills and experience with work you enjoy by supporting our Hunter Trapper Education (HTE), and Hunter Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (R3) programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will support the daily operations and administration of our HTE and R3 programs. Responsibilities involve performing a variety of tasks such as conducting HTE classes, coordinating with HTE volunteers, managing warehouse inventory, and assisting with HTE, R3, and public outreach events. You will assist program instructors with coordinating and teaching courses and volunteer trainings, as well as assist volunteer instructors with setting up classes, obtaining necessary training materials and supplies, securing class locations, and recruiting additional volunteers to host classes as needed. This includes assisting with oversight and management of hunter education inventory and warehouse space, and the upkeep and maintenance of all training equipment.
Our team will also rely on you to answer the hunter education and outreach division phonelines and emails, ensuring that all incoming hunter education and R3 program inquiries and requests are addressed in a timely manner. You will also have the opportunity to attend and assist with HTE and R3 public outreach events, including multi-day and beginner focused events. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to two days per week, after the initial six-month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information;or
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.
Additional Requirements:
+ You must have successfully completed a hunter-trapper education course.
+ You must currently possess a valid PA state hunting license.
+ You must have three or more years of experience hunting.
+ You must have successfully harvested any game in the past five years.
+ You must have experience trapping furbearers.
+ You must have experience with administrative work, such as data entry, filing paperwork, answering phones, or managing supplies.
+ You must be able to safely teach someone to use a bow, crossbow, or firearm.
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
