    Job Summary

    The VP Executive Strategy and Operations serves as a trusted advisor, proxy, and strategic operations leader for the Executive Vice President (EVP). This role ensures that the EVP’s strategic priorities are effectively executed across multiple, complex business functions. The VP Executive Strategy and Operations enables the EVP to focus on enterprise leadership by managing the Executive’s critical administrative, operational, and cross-functional coordination activities that drive the organization’s mission and business outcomes. This position requires exceptional judgment, political acumen, and the ability to influence without authority. The VP Executive Strategy and Operations operates at the highest levels of discretion, supporting internal and external engagements, aligning communications, and ensuring consistent follow-through on executive decisions.

    Essential Functions

    _Strategic and Operational Leadership_

    + Partner with the EVP to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, ensuring alignment across the EVP’s business units.

    + Serve as the EVP’s proxy in key meetings, representing her/his perspective and ensuring seamless follow-through on commitments.

    + Monitor and drive progress on strategic initiatives, identifying interdependencies and removing barriers to execution.

    + Function as a liaison between the EVP and senior leaders to promote effective communication, accountability, and collaboration.

    _Executive Engagement and Communications_

    + Prepare the EVP for key meetings, presentations, and speaking engagements, ensuring clear understanding of objectives, stakeholders, and desired outcomes.

    + Coordinate the EVP’s agenda, messaging, and deliverables across business units and with the Office of the CEO/President.

    + Ensure timely preparation of materials for reporting to other corporate executives, including updates on strategic initiatives, performance, and risks.

    + Partner with Corporate Communications to ensure press releases and internal communications reflect the EVP’s strategic direction and priorities.

    _Organizational Alignment and Relationship Management_

    + Foster collaboration among the EVP’s direct reports and their teams to ensure coordinated execution of enterprise-wide strategies.

    + Collaborate with the Executive Strategy and Operations staff across other executive offices to ensure consistent, integrated enterprise support.

    + Partner with the EVP’s counterpart at Independence Blue Cross (IBX) to align President/CEO activities and shared strategic initiatives.

    _Talent, Performance, and Resource Management_

    + ·Support the EVP in assessing talent, planning succession, and ensuring timely completion of performance reviews within the EVP’s organization.

    + ·Coordinate budgeting and resource planning activities for the EVP’s office.

    + ·Ensure organizational priorities are communicated, tracked, and delivered within expected timelines and standards.

    _Executive Administration and Prioritization_

    + Integrate multiple business unit calendars to ensure the EVP’s time and attention are focused on the most strategic activities.

    + Synthesize competing priorities across the EVP’s areas of responsibility and prepare clear recommendations for next steps.

    + Exercise discretion and independent judgment in managing sensitive and confidential matters.

    Education/Experience

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.

    + Master’s Degree: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.

    + Ten or more years ☒ progressive leadership experience supporting senior or executive-level management in a complex organization.

    + Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

    + Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, manage confidential information, and manage sensitive issues.

    + Strong understanding of corporate operations, governance, and strategy execution.
