    Program Description:

    Reporting to the Dean of Students with a dotted line to the Provost, the Director for Mission & Ministry will oversee the day to day operations of the Campus Ministry department within the Division of Student Affairs. Mission & Ministry provides spiritual resources to the campus community, as well as responsible community outreach and service that falls in line with servant leadership throughout the University.

    Job Description:

    Reporting to the leadership of the UMSV Center for Specialized Academic Support Services, the Academic Support Specialist plays a key role within the Academic Affairs team, supporting undergraduate, accelerated, and graduate students through comprehensive academic assistance and inclusive learning initiatives. This position connects and coordinates services to ensure students have access to tutoring, academic coaching, and accommodations that foster equitable learning opportunities. The specialist collaborates with faculty, staff, and campus partners to create a supportive, accessible academic environment that empowers all students to succeed.

    Responsibilities:

    + Hire, train, manage and evaluate the professional staff within Campus Ministry, including but not limited to a part time Sisters of Charity of New York Campus Minister, and a Part Time Chaplain

    + Provides strategic vision and initiatives that contribute to a vibrant and inclusive community of all faith and spiritual backgrounds

    + Organize annual assessments and reports of the Office for Mission and Ministry

    + Direct the Seton Service and Leadership Program, which includes student mentorship and community services opportunities

    + Provides leadership in the development of service, interfaith, spirituality, diversity, social justice, ethics and inclusive programming

    + Maintain and Advance local & community partners in Ministry initiatives

    + Collaborate with Campus Events in managing the on-campus Chapel of the Immaculate Conception (this could include night and weekend hours for liturgy, weddings, concerts, etc.)

    + Manage a departmental operating budget

    + Represent division of Student Affairs at various campus wide committees, including, but not limited to; Mission Committee (Co-chair), Institutional Outcomes Assessment Committee (IOAC), Student Intervention Team, Campus Events, Student Conduct, and other meetings as assigned

    + Convene the semiannual Campus Ministry Advisory Council, while collaborating with the Sisters of Charity of New York.

    + Plan and organize the annual University wide Month of Service

    + Serve as primary contact from University for Vincent’s Table ministry in collaboration with Sisters of Charity of New York

    + Conduct weekly staff meetings, professional development opportunities, 1-1 updates and assign placement in campus wide committees with Campus Ministry team

    + Actively engage in a ministry of presence, being available and responsive to the college community

    + Participate as a departmental team member while supporting the Division of Student Affairs

    + Partner with Deans and Academic Department Chairs on service-learning initiatives

    + Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    + A Masters Degree in Education, Theology, Pastoral Ministry or related field is preferred with 5-8 years of progressive managerial experience

    + Experience managing a budget and monitoring expenditures.

    + Genuine interest in working with University students as well as the ability to work well with, and relate to, all age groups

    + Valid driver's license and willingness to drive 15 passenger van

    + Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail

    + Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office applications.

    + Physical demands: ability to lift 20-25 pounds of bags of food/clothing donations

    + Potential for late and/or weekend hours

    The allotted annual salary for this role is $85,000 - $90,000
